Post: Head Teacher - Gorse Hill Primary School
Salary Scale: L18- L24
Start Date: September 2026

The Governing Board of this vibrant and forward-thinking school are seeking to appoint a permanent Headteacher to build on the excellent progress the school has made under the leadership of the current post holder over the last 14 years.

Gorse Hill Primary School is a happy, friendly, and successful school where children learn in a caring environment, and all are valued. Over 30 first languages are spoken by our children and their families, and this diversity is celebrated as a strength of our community.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a nurturing leader who can promote resilience and can demonstrate a strong commitment to pupil and staff wellbeing
  • Have a clear vision in leading a creative, systemic and inclusive curriculum including a variety of extracurricular activities
  • Have a proven ability and desire to develop strong relationships with parents, carers and the wider community
  • Promote inclusion and remove all barriers to education and extracurricular activities with a positive focus on SEND pupils
  • Be a confident communicator who can strengthen links with the local community
  • Be energetic and able to demonstrate compassion and kindness with a good sense of humour
