Welcome to Beech Class
Meet our team:
Mrs Langley
Mrs Pervaz
Mrs Rehan
Mr Gleaves
In Beech class we offer a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum that is designed to challenge and support all learners. We work together to bring the best out of each other, we are resilliant and never give up!
Spring Term Overview
In our Maths we have learnt our 3, 4 and 8 times tables. We are building on this by multiplying a two-digit number by a 1-digit number. We will learn the expanded method, where we multiply the ones number then the tens number and add these together. We will then use our knowledge of multiplication to learn how to divide with remainders. Later in the term we will be learning about fractions then mass and capacity. Please do keep practicing your times tables at home!
In English, we will be developing our written work by using more complex conjunctions, similes, adverbs, paragraphs and mixed punctuation. The children have enjoyed creating persuasive posters of their own robot and writing a persuasive letter about the effects of plastic pollution. This half-term they will write a warning tale focusing on using inverted commas (speech marks) and fronted adverbials.
In our Science lessons, we will be looking plants and the best conditions to help them grow!
Our Geographical skills will be enhanced as we learn more about the UK and British Isles, children will name key cities and surrounding seas. We will learn about key landmarks both human and physical and learn about the regions of the UK.
Our DT learning will be looking at different picture frames and designing our own. We will learn technical woodwork skills as we saw, glue and staple our frames together.
Our Religious Education will focus on why the Bible is important for Christians today. In Music we will be learning how to play the glockenspiel with Mr Gleaves and he will continue to teach us Computing.
